PRODUCTION OF BIOETHANOL FROM SUGAR CANE
CA$3.00
INTRODUCTION
Bioethanol is the ethyl alcohol or ethanol obtained from bio resources (biomass) by hydrolysis or sugar fermentation process. It is principal fuel used as a petrol substitute for road transport vehicle. Although ethyl alcohol or ethanol can also be produced by the chemical process of reacting ethylene with steam, but cannot be called bioethanol because of the lack renewable source of raw material and the nature of production route . Sugar fermentation is the process widely used, the main sources of sugar required to produce ethanol come from sugar-based energy crops such as corn, maize, wheat and sugar cane.).
